We are slowly moving from Spring to Summer months, whether or not the elements aren’t participating. It appears 1 day is cold, and 1 day is hot, and it’s continually rotating backward and forwards. I was thinking about something fun to create for the kids to support both those cold days that you would like to snuggle watching a movie and the ones warm days that you would like to grab a small number of a sweet treat and run wild outside. In pop, Fruity Rainbow Popcorn, literally into my mind.
I’ve colored popcorn before, but I had never made a few colors to produce a rainbow effect. I thought the youngsters would love various colors mix together. I QUICKLY thought, why not make an excellent fruity flavor as well. I needed to create our Rainbow Popcorn, and something skittles will be pleased with. I went for a Raspberry flavored Rainbow Popcorn.
150g Vegetable Oil
4 drops Gel Food Colouring
50g Popcorn kernels
23g Hartleys Sugar-Free Jelly Raspberry (crystals) or simply Wholefoods jelly crystals for a vegetarian alternative
For one color…
On the high temperature, stir sugar, oil, your color selection of food coloring, popcorn kernels in a sizable, deep frying pan, continuously.
When the first kernel pops, place lid on the frying pan and using the pan’s handle, exercise the frying pan along on the burner. Therefore, the kernels keep sliding around in the oil. You don’t want them to burn.
Take care not to spill oil on yourself it’s extremely hot
Moving the frying pan consistently coats the popped kernels with the meals coloring and keeps it from burning the popcorn already popped.
It only takes a couple of seconds to pop all kernels.
Remove from heat and place in a glass bowl.
Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of the jelly crystals over the popcorn and stir with a wooden spoon.
Let fresh before eating or mixing with other colors.
REPEAT THESE STEPS FOR EVERY COLOUR!
When you have made all of the colors you want plus they have cooled off, you can mix them in a sizable re-sealable bag. Add remaining Raspberry flavoring to the bag and shake for an extra fruity flavor.
It certainly doesn’t take long at all and makes stunning sweet fruity rainbow popcorn that’s simply perfect for family movie night or in a bowl for a weekend treat.
Will you want to pack it for a day trip with the youngsters and eat it at the seaside? It’s party season. Perhaps you want to create it for your little’s party and fill paper cones with it. In any event, your little types will like this up to you will.
It’s highly addictive, I promise you. The sweet and fruity flavor is among my favorite popcorn treats. You can create this into numerous other recipes, too, like making them into popcorn balls! Or try making each color a different flavor to make it skittle-tastic necessarily. It truly is an ideal treat for summer for your family!
